“I Have A Dream” Foundation®
The “I Have A Dream” Foundation works to ensure that all children have the opportunity to pursue higher education, fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams. The foundation empowers children (“Dream Scholars”) in under-resourced communities to graduate from high school by equipping them with the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed in postsecondary life: whether it be 2 year college, 4 year college (along with tuition support to remove financial barriers) technical training, or other paths.. By helping Dream Scholars gain confidence, they are put on a different life trajectory, creating positive ripple effects on the students’ families and the generations that follow.
How HMTX Supports the “I Have A Dream” Foundation
- HMTX Executive Chair Harlan Stone joined the Board of Directors of this National “I Have A Dream” Foundation in February 2018, and more recently has become the Vice Chair of the Board. In this capacity, he supports the vision and mission of the national educational equity organization, which has 14 affiliates located in 9 states and currently serves nearly 4,000 students in the kindergarten-to-postsecondary school pipeline.
- Harlan serves on the Board Governance and Nominating Committee, has lead number ad hoc committees, and is a member of the Affiliate Exchange Program, providing strategic support and resources to the “I Have A Dream” Foundation of New Jersey Philadelphia and Washington DC.

Founded by Millard Fuller over 50 years ago, Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. Habitat’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Habitat works toward its vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.

Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation®
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) seeks to find a cure for all multiple myeloma patients by relentlessly pursuing innovations that accelerate the development of precision treatments for cancer. The MMRF identifies barriers and then finds the solutions to overcome them, bringing in the best partners and aligning incentives in the industry to drive better outcomes for patients. Today, the MMRF is building on its legacy in genomics and is expanding into immunotherapy, as the combination of these two fields will be critical to making precision medicine possible for all patients.
How HMTX Supports the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation
HMTX Executive Chairman, Harlan Stone has been a leader and partner in the MMRF mission. His support began many years ago after his mother’s battle with multiple myeloma. His ongoing involvement is inspired in part by his belief that the work of the MMRF may one day also benefit those suffering from other types of cancer. Thanks to his generosity and involvement, the MMRF has been able, and will continue to drive progress in democratizing healthcare and promoting more equitable and favorable patient outcomes. Additionally, HMTX partners with MMRF (and any local nonprofit organization) to use the HMTX Headquarters, the “House Up on The Hill” for company meetings and events at no cost for use of our facility.

Norwalk Hospital Foundation. Whittingham Cancer Center/Pancreatic Cancer Research Pancreatic Cancer Screening Study
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most lethal of all cancers, with five-year survival rates under 10 percent. Too often, at the time of diagnosis, pancreatic cancer cells have spread to other parts of the body. The ability to detect pancreatic cancer at an early, more curable stage is therefore urgently needed.
As part of Northwell Health, a leading health system serving the greater Northeast region, Norwalk & Danbury Hospitals are working now to improve detection and outcomes for patients. Richard Frank, MD, Director of Clinical Cancer Research, is leading the Pancreatic Cancer Screening Study, which uses MRI and blood screenings to improve methods of early detection, identify biomarkers for risk, and understand which patients are likely to respond to available chemotherapy treatments.

The University of Pennsylvania, located in Philadelphia, is the alma mater of HMTX Executive Chairman, Harlan Stone, who is a deeply engaged alumnus. His giving has helped foster collaboration and innovation across the University, the impact of which will be felt for generations.

- Harlan serves on the Board of Advisors at the School of Engineering and Applied Science (Penn Engineering), where he is currently the Chair of the Penn Engineering Technical Advisory Board.
- Harlan has provided support for Penn Engineering’s highest strategic priorities, including the endowment of a professorship, financial aid for undergraduate and graduate students, and capital support for the Digital Media Design program. And the lead donor for the new AI building known as Amy Gutmann Hall.

SAVE THE SOUND® —ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN UP EVENT
Rick Taylor, Sr. Director, Community Engagement, leads this effort to combat ocean and plastic pollution. Through this program, our east coast employees have the opportunity to pitch in to reduce litter along the Connecticut and Long Island Sound.
The mission of Save the Sound is to protect and improve the land, air and water of Connecticut and Long Island Sound. The organization uses legal and scientific expertise and brings people together to achieve results that benefit the environment for current and future generations.
HMTX CARES
For decades, HMTX employees across our Halstead, Metroflor, Teknoflor, and Vertex brands have raised funds and awareness for a wide range of causes, often in support of employees or family members facing serious illness or socioeconomic hardship.
Over the years, these efforts have supported organizations such as the Camphill Foundation, Crohn’s & Colitis, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. More recently, employee-led fundraising has focused on helping those affected by the opioid crisis and the broader addiction epidemic.
Previously known as HMAC (Halstead Metroflor Addiction Crisis), this initiative began in support of an employee whose family was affected by addiction. Its mission was to raise funds for rehabilitation scholarships and help families who could not otherwise afford treatment for loved ones living with substance use disorders. Since 2019, we have raised $1 million.

Rallye for Pancreatic cancer
Founded by Michelle Moreus and her family following her stepfather's diagnosis in 2015, the Rallye for Pancreatic Cancer was born out of a deeply personal fight. Sadly, on November 11th, 2025, he passed away after a courageous, nearly 10.5-year battle with Acinar cell carcinoma—a rare and aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. In his honor, our mission is to bring awareness to the critical lack of early detection methods and to fund life-saving early screenings. We proudly achieve this by partnering with Norwalk Hospital, Nuvance Health, Northwell Health, and the Norwalk Hospital Foundation.
100% of our event proceeds go directly toward supporting Dr. Richard Frank's landmark Pandome screening study at Norwalk Hospital's Whittingham Cancer Center, which explores the critical link between Type 2 diabetes and early-stage pancreatic cancer.
Because pancreatic cancer remains one of the most lethal malignancies with no standard early testing, most cases are diagnosed late at Stage 3 or 4. Despite being the third leading cause of U.S. cancer deaths, it remains the least funded—a gap felt acutely in Connecticut, which currently ranks among the highest in pancreatic cancer incidence nationwide. Driven to turn the tide, Rallye for Pancreatic Cancer has proudly donated over $300,000 to clinical research to date, accelerating medical innovations across our combined regional health networks.
Luca's ride for aml
Luca’s Ride for AML honors the memory of Luca Raskin while raising awareness and funds for childhood leukemia research. The event supports continued progress in the research and treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a rare and aggressive form of childhood leukemia, with the goal of giving every child diagnosed with AML a fighting chance.
Luca was diagnosed with AML on September 27, 2020, at just four and a half years old. His diagnosis turned his family’s world upside down and became the inspiration behind Luca’s Ride — a fundraiser rooted in love, remembrance, and hope for a cure.
Over the past five years, Luca’s Ride has raised $55,000 for childhood leukemia research. With the message “Rides = Strides,” the event reflects every mile ridden as part of the larger journey toward better treatments, stronger outcomes, and one day, a cure.
The 2026 ride will be the sixth and final year of fundraising. Riders will gather at Milwaukee Harley-Davidson before continuing to a post-ride celebration with live music, food, beverages, a car show, activities, raffles, and more.
