HMTX Industries: Sustainability & Transparency Leader in the Flooring Industry

AT NEOCON, THE MART SHOWROOM 1169

NORWALK, CT, June 10, 2024 – HMTX Industries and its family of companies are committed to transparency, both for our products and our company. We are focused on the development and manufacturing of products that promote a balance between economic growth, environmental preservation, and social well-being.

HMTX’s Sustainability, Transparency, Impact and Community (STIC) team is comprised of a highly dedicated and knowledgeable staff of professionals who serve as an information clearinghouse that directs sustainability efforts throughout the global enterprise. The team is involved in all aspects of the product channel: supply chain sustainability, product and social transparency, testing and compliance.

The STIC team has championed numerous sustainability programs for HMTX’s brand portfolio, including Declare™, Health Product Declaration®, Environmental Product Declaration, Cradle-to-Cradle Certified®, ASSURE Certified™, FloorScore®, GREENGUARD Gold, Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort® Gold, Just℠, and BES 6001. STIC also manages the climate neutrality efforts for products (embodied carbon) and buildings (operational carbon).

At the company level, HMTX strives for transparency in external and internal practices. The STIC team has led endeavors in social justice and equity for both employees and suppliers. Through the International Living Future Institute’s Just program, HMTX has consistently showcased our performance across a wide range of social justice metrics, including diversity & inclusion, equity, employee benefits, and stewardship. In 2020, HMTX became the first manufacturer in the world to achieve a Just label under the Just 2.0 standard, and today remains the only flooring manufacturer with a Just label. The annual Impact Report provides further transparency of HMTX’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals, as well as our progress towards them. The report reflects the steps we are taking to continue to be a leader in responsibility and transparency within the flooring industry.
