Calhoun, March 5, 2021 – Halstead/Metroflor’s Addiction Crisis charity (HMAC) will host its final, major “Big Bang” fundraiser on March 25 live at the Copper Coin in Woodstock, GA at 5:30 pm EST and virtually from 6 pm to 7:45 pm EST. Featuring sports legends, testimonials and more, the evening of inspiration, music and hope will be the culmination of a two-year journey by HMAC to help those in need suffering from the disease of addiction. HMAC provides rehabilitation “scholarships” and support for families who otherwise would not be financially able to save their loved ones suffering from substance addiction disorders.

Proceeds will help achieve HMAC’s ultimate goal of raising $500,000, which will be matched dollar for dollar by the Stone family for a total of $1 million. The tax-deductible donations will benefit a nonprofit 501(c)(3) partnership with “Faith in Four: Recovery, Prevention, Education and Treatment”, to fund the scholarships at six fully vetted agencies across the US offering substance abuse rehabilitation and education:

The Blanchard Institute, Charlotte, NC
Damascus Road Recovery, Covington, GA
Genesis Ministries,Kennesaw, GA
Hope House Ministries, Port Jefferson, NY
Thomas’Hope, West Babylon, NY
Davis Direct Foundation, Marietta, GA

The Big Bang event will kick off with a musical performance by Maddy Anderson, singer-songwriter and daughter of Halstead’s President Eric Anderson. Also featured will be two NFL current stars who have beaten the disease of addiction and will tell their compelling stories: Darren Waller, an all-pro tight end from the Las Vegas Raiders; andHayden Hurst, a tight end who plays with the Atlanta Falcons.

Their sports memorabilia along with others will be available for sale both online (starting March 24th at 9am ESTthrough the end of the March 25th virtual event) and live bidding at the Copper Coin.

HMTX CEO Harlan Stone will discuss the special need for philanthropy during the COVID era, especially as the number of deaths due to alcohol, drugs or addiction-related suicide exceeded 150,000 in 2019 and will continue to worsen as the pandemic continues. Georgia Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan will explain what the state government is doing to help defeat this disease. Finally, emotional testimonials from our agency partners and addicts who havebeen helped by HMAC will reinforce the crucial need for helping, not stigmatizing, addicts and their families.

Said Paul Eanes, HMAC Board Chairman, “Our addiction crisis charity provides scholarships to help addicts whocannot afford to go to rehab. We fund fully vetted agencies across the US as a nonprofit charity. All funds raised from our entire two-year campaign will be matched by our generous CEO Harlan Stone and his family, so we hope to raise $1,000,000 by our finish line the end of March – an ambitious goalpost we are driven to reach!”

Tickets are $25 for the live event at the Copper Coin, 400 Chambers St., Woodstock, GA 30188; and $20 for the virtual event. Those wishing to join this informative and inspiring event whose entire proceeds go to battling the crippling disease of addiction can purchase tickets (for the live and virtual event) HERE. For more informationabout HMAC, visit hmacfund.org or LinkedIn
