NORWALK, CT, March 14, 2023 – HMTX Industries hosted a fundraiser and symposium for HMTX Cares, its charitable organization of employee/volunteers, on Thursday, March 9. The event ‘s theme “One Million Points of Light” reflects HMTX Cares’ million-dollar goal: funding scholarships for those suffering from addiction and mental illness who could not otherwise afford urgently needed treatment. The event raised over $133,000, surpassing the overall goal of $500,000, which will be fully matched by Harlan Stone and the Stone family for a total of over $1 million. The funds will be donated to HMTX Cares’ rehabilitation agencies/partners. This success comes in the face of two down years in fundraising efforts due to the pandemic.

The charity was established three years ago to fight the disease of addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. More than 85 people attended the event. Keynote speaker Dr. Margaret  Lowenstein of Penn Medical discussed the research they have done to combat the disease of addiction. Supported rehabilitation and aftercare agencies were also in attendance and recognized for their “first responder” service to those suffering from the disease of addiction.

Said HMTX Cares Chairman and Metroflor’s OEM Vice President, Paul Eanes, “What happened at our fundraiser was a dream come true, where we had a prominent speaker such as Dr. Lowenstein along with our beneficiary partners, our CEO Harlan Stone, and employee volunteers all together to support the cause. In addition, we achieved our lofty goal in our brand-new world headquarters, The House Up On the Hill. We are very blessed to have someone as committed as Harlan and the Stone family to this incredible cause.”
